Title: CPC2010-131, LAND USE REDESIGNATION (RESIDUAL SUB-AREA 2C) AND BYLAW 113D2010
Background Information:
This application seeks to redesignate the subject parcel from Special Purpose – Future Urban Development District (S-FUD) to a Direct Control District based in part on the Industrial - Heavy District (I-H) to accommodate, on a temporary basis, the extraction and processing of aggregate resources found on site only. The subject site is located in a future urban development area and is adjacent to several other existing aggregate operations. The area is identified as future industrial development in the North Regional Concept Study. Aggregate extraction is also identified as an appropriate temporary use in advance of future urban development.
Motions:
ADOPT, Moved by Alderman G. Lowe, Seconded by Alderman J. Stevenson, that the Calgary Planning Commission Recommendations contained in Report CPC2010-131 be adopted, as follows:
That Council:
- Adopt the proposed redesignation of 16.13 ha ± (39.86 ac ±) located at 13888 – 69 Street NW (Plan 9010823, Lot 5) from S-FUD Special Purpose – Future Urban Development District and DC Direct Control District to DC Direct Control District to accommodate an aggregate extraction operation, in accordance with the Corporate Planning Applications Group recommendation, as amended; and
- Give three readings to the proposed Bylaw 113D2010.
