Title: E2011-14, SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION REGARDING CPC2011-094, MONITORING OF THE CONTEXTUAL SINGLE DETACHED DWELLING
The Contextual Single Detached Dwelling was introduced with Land Use Bylaw 1P2007 in order to provide more certainty and flexibility when building single detached homes within the Developed Areas of the City. In order to ensure the rules were achieving their intended goals Council directed Administration to monitor the effectiveness of the rules. The Attachment, CPC2011-094, is the second comprehensive monitoring report of the Contextual Single Detached Dwelling. The findings of the report conclude that the rules are achieving their desired goals; however, better communication is required to educate both communities and industry about redevelopment. This report provides additional information as requested at the 2011 September 12 Combined Meeting of Council.
ADOPT, Moved by Alderman D. Farrell, Seconded by Alderman A. Chabot, that the Administration Recommendations contained in Report E2011-14 be adopted, as follows:
- Receive this report, including CPC2011-094, for information; and
- Direct Administration to conduct ongoing monitoring of the contextual rules in two year intervals.
