Title: LPT2011-86, INCREASING FUNDING TO HERITAGE PRESERVATION
Background Information:
On 2011 May 13, Council directed Administration to recommend options for increasing funding to heritage preservation. Administration has reviewed current heritage programs as well as relevant policies, business plans, and budget documents to establish three priority areas for heritage preservation: Sustain Current Programs, Calgary Heritage Authority (CHA) Growth, and New Initiatives. Administration recommends Alternative 2, which addresses two of the three priority areas: Sustain Current Programs and CHA Growth. This option requires a $150,000 increase in funding to the heritage program beginning in 2013. This increase would fund additional heritage staff and a consulting budget for the implementation of the CHA Review Summary Findings.
